Privacy Policy

Your thoughts are yours. Here's how we protect them.

Last updated: 10 January 2026

Overview

One Good Thing is designed to be private by default.

The app does not show ads, does not track you for marketing purposes, and does not sell your personal data. This policy explains what data is stored, when it may be synced, and how it's used.

What Data Is Stored

Your entries

Notes you write in the app are stored locally on your device by default.

They are not sent to our servers unless you choose to enable sync.

We do not read, analyze, or process the content of your notes.

App usage & anonymous identifiers

When the app is launched for the first time, an anonymous identifier is created.

This identifier is used only to support subscription and purchase-related analytics.

It is not used to track behavior, build profiles, or identify you personally.

One Good Thing does not use behavioral analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party SDKs for usage tracking.

Accounts, subscriptions & sync

You can use One Good Thing without creating an account.

If you choose to purchase a subscription:

  • Authentication and payment are handled by Apple.
  • After purchase, Apple may provide us with limited account information (such as an Apple-associated identifier and email address) so we can manage your subscription.
  • We do not receive your payment details.

Sync & backup (subscription feature)

After subscribing, you may choose to enable sync and backup.

When sync is enabled:

  • Your notes are securely stored on our servers to allow backup and access across devices.
  • Synced data is used only to provide this functionality.
  • Sync is optional and can be disabled at any time.
  • We do not access, review, or use synced content for analytics, advertising, or any other purpose.

Data Sharing

  • We do not sell your data.
  • We do not share your data with advertisers.
  • We do not use your data for profiling or marketing.

Data is shared with third parties only where necessary to process subscriptions or provide sync functionality, and only through trusted infrastructure providers.

Data Storage & Security

Local data remains on your device unless sync is enabled.

Synced data is stored using reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.

We limit access to synced data to what is strictly necessary to operate the service.

Children's Privacy

One Good Thing does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe that a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us so it can be removed.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be made available in the app and on this page.

If changes affect how your data is handled, they will be communicated clearly.
